History

SkyHarvest was founded in 2021 to confront pressing environmental and social challenges affecting the lands surrounding the Chiricahua Mountains and the town of Bowie in Cochise County, Arizona. For more than a century, unsustainable land use practices have placed this ecologically and culturally rich region at risk. In response, a dedicated group of ecologists and concerned citizens came together to form SkyHarvest, with a mission to protect, restore, and steward both the natural ecosystems and the communities that depend on them.

In 2023, the Trevor Glasgow family generously donated a community center in Bowie on over half an acre in memory of their sister, Ani Pelma, a cherished member of the local community. Today, the property continues to serve the village in the spirit of her legacy and stands as the headquarters of SkyHarvest.
