As a Volunteer, you may be working on the ground implementing ecological restoration at beautiful remote areas such Diamond Mountain Retreat Center in Southeast Arizona. Or nearby you may be planting food gardens or installing rainwater catchment and storage in a little town called Bowie. Or, you might want to volunteer from anywhere in the world from the comfort of your home laptop populating databases, making posts for social media, or sending out donor update reports and thank you letters.

Helping the world demands all these different kinds of activities and skill sets, so you'll be able to choose a project and task that fits your passion. Then, please, you can take what you learn with SkyHarvest, and empower the community near you.

Shared housing options are available, with a stocked kitchen where you can prepare and enjoy simple meals. Camping options are available nearby, or contact DMRC (DiamondMountain.org) directly to book a private comfortable off-grid cottage at your own expense.

Field work is manual labor: shoveling, raking, planting and harvesting seeds, moving and stacking rocks. You'll have the opportunity to learn practical skills from experts in permaculture, ecological restoration, erosion control, water catchment and wild seed crafting.

Infrastructure Maintenance can include anything from plumbing, irrigation system set up and repairs, painting, hanging gutters, building raised garden beds, digging beds, spreading mulch, sewing curtains, building a compost pile or an adobe pizza oven.

Administrative tasks don't necessarily require that you bring a laptop (desktops are available on site), although you might prefer working on your own system. SkyHarvest projects can benefit with your knowledge of spreadsheets and wordprocessing, graphics, webpage design, marketing and grantwriting along with some ability to research online. You can volunteer for administrative tasks either remotely or on site. 

If you  have no skill sets in any of these areas, all you need is to feel brave for some self-teaching with an encouraging  host on site to help trouble shoot problems you might encounter during your learning curve. Tasks vary according to needs at the moment, and not all options will be available at any given time.
